Open the cabinet and locate the thin stamped metal knockout panel
Use a flat screwdriver and hammer to tap one edge inward
Wiggle/twist the knockout until it breaks free
Use pliers if needed to fully remove it
Install a rubber grommet afterward to protect cables from sharp edges
Be careful — the metal edges can be sharp after removal. Some users also drill a starter hole or use a step bit if the knockout is stubborn.
