Yes the time can be set automatically using the Atomic Clock feature. It syncs via radio signal (WWVB/DCF), so no manual setting is needed when reception works. It usually updates automatically at night (around 1:00–5:00 AM) and shows a tower icon when connected. If signal is weak, you can force it manually by holding the RCC/clock button. Only alkaline batteries are recommended for this weather station. Rechargeable lithium batteries are not suitable. Different voltage and discharge performance will cause device malfunction or damage.

The outdoor sensor uses three alkaline AA batteries. The solar panel serves as a backup power source, directly supplying power to the sensor on sunny days without charging the batteries. The display is powered by a power adapter and can also use AAA alkaline batteries as a backup power source. When powered by the adapter, the backlight remains constantly on. When powered by batteries alone, the backlight can only be lit for 15 seconds.
