Does the indoor screen have to be plugged in or is it battery powered as well?

If powered by battery only, Wi-Fi will not activate and the backlight will not remain constantly on. It is recommended to use an adapter for power.

when mounting this unit high can you use a remot battery to power unit so you can change batteries from the ground? does unit hae replacable battery?

No. Running a remote battery cable breaks the IPX6 weather seal, exposing electronics to water damage and affecting wind sensor stability. Yes. It uses standard replaceable AA batteries as a backup, but the integrated solar panel recharges/powers the unit—meaning you rarely (every few years) need to change them.

Is this 8 in 1 weather station able to upload data to Weather Underground?
