No they were same as any other nuts. Make sure the pieces are oriented correctly so the holes line up properly.

None at all. There shouldn't be a problem since the two wrenches are included. They're not free by the way. they were included in the cost. Manually tighten the nut as much as you can, then take the wrench to them. They don't need to be super tight, just snug them up against the frame piece with enough torque so they don't come loose in use.
