I know sand is significantly heavier than water as far as density. Will it be too heavy to push if filled with sand?

No, it can be pushed, but it is indeed much heavier to fill with sand than with water, and filling sand into a container is not convenient.

this roller is advertised as a tow-behind. the handle supplied cannot be used as a tow-behind. where can i order a tow-behind handle ???ow-bejom

I can not answer that question. I’m not sure there is a tow behind handle for this roller, he would probably have to have somebody weld up her arm and hitch for you. Sorry.
