I see conflicting information. Can water be added manually or is it only to be used with a water line?
The machine needs to be connected to a water pipe for water intake. If you are in a special environment and you cannot connect to a water source, you can also manually add water to the sink, and add water every time ice is made.

What happens to the water from the melted ice? Does it get recycled back to ice ?
After the ice cubes are made, they will fall into the storage bin, and the melted water will be drained from the bottom of the back of the machine and cannot be used again. The machine does not have a refrigeration function, but the inner tank is foamed, which has a certain heat preservation effect, so that the ice cubes will not melt quickly. If you want to keep the ice intact overnight, you can put the ice cubes in the freezer.

at what ambient temperature (min/max) can this unit operate at?
The ice making time can be adjusted and there is no requirement for the ambient temperature. If the ambient temperature is too high, the ice making time will be lengthened. If the ambient temperature is too low, the ice making time will be shortened to prevent the ice cubes from being too thick to fall off.
