I've used it to sweep up pine cones and small branches (1/2" diameter and up to 2 feet long). However, I thought that the brushes were adequately attached. After running it for the first 30 minutes, one of the brushes came partially loose and bent around the shaft. I was able to remove it and straighten it. After reinstalling it, I tightened all the brushes, and it worked fine from that point on. So, my advice is to retighten all of the brush clamps before using it.
