Plugging a 220V appliance into a 110V socket will inevitably cause it to heat up very slowly. 220V appliances should be plugged into 220V sockets.

I’m having the exact same issue. It plugss into an American socket, but its wattage is UK. The people in charge of customer service don’t seem to know English that well. So, it was a struggle to explain this to them. They should switch these out with actual American ones, but the wouldn’t do that for me. I’ll likely just scrap it.
