I have installed an electric transfer pump on mine but I would think if you laid it on its side it would leak. I use my tractor bucket to roll it into my truck bed for filling at the station.

No. I would NEVER lay it down. It is vented and it would leak. You will need to secure it in your truck by strapping it in place.
