I'm sure you could with some overlap and bolts, but the capacity might be compromised slightly.

Not unless you can buy an additional set of joining plates, the set only comes with 4 (1 for each column). Your second set of shelves with come with 4 more but you still need an additional 4 build one on top of another. Also, if you do that, you need to secure it to the wall. It may not be rigid enough to free stand.

I don't think so because the bottom shelf would be right next to the top shelf without a space. That bottom shelf and top shelf keeps the whole thing rigid. There is a joiner that goes between the second and third shelf and you would need 4 of those to build it higher. I think there are other types that are taller than this type so you might look for those instead. I bought another set that is taller and the shelves are wider so I will have additional shelves.

Mine are doubled up, so I have one on top of the bottom one. I believe mine are 72 inches tall combined. I do believe they have different sizes.

On this 5-shelf unit, the side rails are a fixed height, around 30" or half the size of the unit. So you could combine, but you would have to add height in 30" increments.

I wouldn't try it. There is no way to secure them on each other.

Would have been better if you purchased the 72" (6') tall one. You could probably stack half of one on top. Anything higher you risk it toppling over.

No, and that is not for lack of trying. The metal is too thin to weld to, it will warp and it won't support the weight of the shelves. You also can't weld to the shelves brackets because the weight would push against the locking slots. You could fabricate a platform for the shelves to sit on that has wheels. If you do that, I would suggest a guard to keep the shelves from sliding. I am also not sure I would trust the rigidity of the shelves with weight on them while moving.

I wouldn't advise it. The shelves are narrow and tall. It'd be asking for a tip over...in my opinion.

Very thin, not the best shelving unit to purchase. I would not purchase this unit again it’s very cheaply made compared to the one you can purchase from Costco. The one from Costco is heavy duty and worth the extra money.

The about 1/4 inch mansonite board is about 35 1/2 in X 17 1/2 in. I had to cut another 1/4 in plywood board to put underneath the mansonite for better support.
