I'm guessing to compensate for voltage drop due to the 65' length

I looked at them all, and unless you get into a commercial grade retractor which are very expensive they are all 15 amp, many with 14 gage wire. So this was the best option I could find, I have been using it for months now and have a fan, shop vac, and router running at the same time and have not had it trip once. So I am happy with it.

Mine is mounted outside in Alaska. It’s mounted on an outside wall but the roof hangs over just enough to keep the snow and rain off of it. Love it.

I.dont think it's designed.for outside use .even undercover or an.awning over it . I would.not advise
