This tank & nozzle system is designed for Diesel fuel. Normally a larger diameter nozzle so you can’t fill a gasoline engine with Diesel fuel. If you are using as a Gasoline system you will need to use a gasoline nozzle.

I would advise you check the tank your transferring from, it sounds as if your using a diesel pump to fill a gas vehicle. Diesel pump handles are bigger in diameter than gas handles
