Can this pump be used without the control box?
Depends on what you're doing with it. If you're trying to use it for the house, yes, you need a control box. If you're using it strictly for manual irrigation all you need is a standard switch to turn it on and off when needed.

What is the ampere /amperege of 1hp 115v?
I have a 75ft well that is not in use but would like to use it to water the garden and, if needed, fill the main well in case of draught. Considering both the main well and garden are a good 200ft away would you have a suggestion on what pump to use? Additionally, my plan is to just use an extension cord, plug and run as needed, I guess i could install a switch if I'm feeling snazzy but I rarely feel snazzy.

Hello, yes, the water can flow back to the pump when the pump is off. (The water outlet of the normal water pump is higher than the pool or other water storage containers. After the pump is turned off, the water in the pool will not flow back into the deep well. A check valve is installed at the water outlet of the pump so that the water will not flow back to the deep well)

Would this be suitable for pumping from a stream to a water tank about 150ft above, just by connecting the pump directly to a solar panel?
