I want to melt 100oz of silver and pour it at one time into a piece of art. Is this possible? I understand I don't need to pre-Flux the new crucible, but I need to add borax to the melted metal. Is adding 10 oz of silver at a time too much or should I add less? How long after it is taken out of the furnace do I have to pour the silver? 60 seconds? I have a slurry/flour ceramic mold. Can it be cold? If not, how hot, will 250f degrees be ok? 500F? Will the tongs be sufficient for the weight?
