Does this pump have a float?

This pump does not have a float switch. It is a manual (non-automatic) unit that requires direct plugging/unplugging for operation.

Whats the minimum depth the water needs to be at? I'm trying to drain a parking lot and the water is not super deep.

The water level should be about 1/3 of the height of the water pump.
