The backwash feature should be used periodically to help flush the system and maintain performance, typically when you notice reduced water flow or an increase in the TDS reading.
The drain plug is used to empty the unit for maintenance, storage, or winterization. For normal operation, use the water inlet and outlet ports. When draining the system completely, the drain plug is the appropriate outlet to use.
Backwash: Reverses the water flow to flush out trapped debris from the filter.
Fast rinse: Flushes out any remaining debris after backwashing and prepares the system for normal use.
