You're actually not supposed to do that, but it works. Anything you evacuate from the chamber, liquids, vapour etc has to pass through the oil in the pump and the oil gets contaminated. The lid is only acrylic so too much heat will damage it. Although saying that, any liquid in the chamber will also damage the acrylic lid too. You can buy vacuum chambers with glass, you should look for one of those. Any buy some extra vacuum oil, because you'll need to change it frequently.
