Might be tight …it would be too tight in the heat.summer might make them buckle or come apart ? Though not sure but try buying one or a two pack to try b4 buying all 10

How do you put these on a deck if they are 5.5 high and code states rail can be no more than 4inches from the deck? How would you put bottom rail on?

These are great for anchoring into garage concrete floor and putting hand rails to kitchen etc. if you had on a deck you would have some hard drilling as the steel is thick. Or go to a 1 by 8 for bottom deck board.
