Does the solar panel on this need to be in direct 100% sunlight to charge or can it be in a shady area of a driveway and still charge from ambient light when it is light outside?
It is best to place it in the southeast direction, because the sunshine time is relatively sufficient. It's best if there aren't any tall obstructions nearby.
