Does this ladder get bolted to the pier/boat, or does it clip in place so that it can be removed easily?

It is not clear what "retractable" means. The illustrations show that one can adjust the ladder up or down one foot. Is it also possible to pull the ladder up out of the water when temporarily not in use, while leaving the frame bolted to the dock?

It can adjust the range by stretching, which is about the distance of a step. You should not pull the ladder out of the water when not in use.

I have a floating dock that sits on the ground at low tide. I have to have a ladder that can be pulled up and locked into place when not in use to prevent it blowing back into the water when I'm not there. How easy is it to retract this ladder when not in use?
