Can the towel warmer be kept and used in the shower area or is it too humid of an environment? Is it okay to use it on rugged surfaces? At one time in the instructions, it says to use with dry fabrics only and yet there is a drying mode. Please explain.

It can be used in the shower area, but the machine cannot be exposed to water. It can be used on rough surfaces without tipping over.
