How much oil is needed to cook?

There is an oil level line on the portion plate, please do not exceed it. The amount of oil used depends on how much of the ingredients are fried, and it depends on how you cook it.

Is the oil temperature controlled by a thermostat? Do you set it, then self regulate it as you fry?

Has anyone prefected trying to keep the temp right ? Ive tried the lowed flame and still reaches smoke point.
