Couldn't tell you why.... Mine lasted approx 5 minutes before smoking and burning up. Bad choice for a chop saw.

It makes no sense. The wattage is flat out wrong as is the voltage. It runs fine on a 20 amp 110 volt breaker and is a good saw.
I'd buy it again.

I have been using this saw on a 20 amp circuit and never tripped the breaker. It has soft start to limit the current and I guess the 2800 watts (23 amps) is the stall current and under normal use it never draws this amount of power.
