Mabe , If not remove one rod holder and replace it with a 2in. piece of PVC pipe with a 2in. cap on the bottom of it.

the rod holders are open on the bottom , so the sand will support the weight , the rod holder will keep it upright, but I wouldn't want to test it against more than a soft breeze. best case-tips the cart over ,worst case it breaks the holder. that being said - we have had 20-30 lb fish hit rods in the holders and had no problems.

Yes but the bottoms of the rod holders are not capped off. I just drilled a couple holes on the sides near the bottom and used zip ties to prevent my rods from dragging on the ground
