Can this machine cut thick paper (e.g. roughtly index card thick stock)? Or is it just for vinyl?

If I design a paint mask or simple applique with CorelDraw (my preferred software) how do I use this to cut it out? Is it a simple "send to cutter" operation or do I have to convert the vector file to a different format, import it into your software, and then cut? I'm looking for a little detail about the workflow with other design software. Thank you
