The description here says it is waterproof but the instructions that came with this say it needs to be installed in a waterproof box if installing outside. Which is correct?
The product itself has some waterproof capabilities, but the power supply is not waterproof. Our included power adapter is not waterproof, therefore the instruction manual states that a waterproof box is required for outdoor installation.
