How do you clean the machine for the first time and between uses? It says to use a sanitizing solution in the manual, What is that?
I do not have this type of machine... but for mines I use a bleach and water solution...

Whenever I make ice cream on the highest hardness setting, the machine stops churning when the ice cream is only soft. How do I get harder ice cream?
Actually, it should stop at the soft stage to allow you to transfer the results to a more permanent container for hard freezing. The flavor "blooms" more when frozen hard without the stirring (in your freezer).

I had this problem. Make sure once you rotate the dial and close softness setting, you push the dial. That will select and confirm your choice of stiffness a new cooking timer will populate. The timer will start counting up instead of down and you’ll see a loading bar under the timer. If you set it to time only, you won’t get the hardness you desire. Hope that helps.
