G1 and G2 do not attach to each other (suggesting it should be one long piece). The overlap allows water to flow through. How do you, the maker/seller, suggest this held together so the water does not flow between the two pieces? I am unable to attach a photo to show you what I am referring to.

The G1 and G2 sections are not meant to be a waterproof structural seal by themselves — the overlap alone will leak if left dry-fitted. This type of awning is designed to be sealed with: silicone or polyurethane sealant + mounting pressure against the wall bracket. You should apply a continuous bead of weatherproof exterior silicone (neutral cure) between G1 and G2 before tightening. if this answer does not resolve the current issue, please contact us again for assistance.
