Is this really oil pump? Looks like fuel pump. Will be able to transfer large quantities of high viscous liquids?
The primary medium conveyed is diesel fuel; it is not suitable for conveying large quantities of high-viscosity liquids.

Why can't this pump pump a small amount of water or gasoline (3 gallons) from a lawnmower tank to a secondary container? Will it explode?
This product is an AC diesel pump and cannot use water or other fuels.

How long of a duty cycle does it have?
The standard duty cycle for this VEVOR 110V 16 GPM Oil Transfer Pump is 30 minutes. To prevent the motor from overheating, it should be turned off to cool down for at least 20 to 30 minutes after every 30 minutes of continuous operation. The pump is equipped with an internal thermal overload protection switch that will automatically shut down the motor if it gets too hot during an extended run.
