I've just used this and it is not water-permeable. does anyone have experience with it becoming permeable over time, with overposure to sun, etc.?
I bought this a few weeks ago and you're right, water doesn't go through it very well. The advertising is very misleading, both in what they say and the image they show of water gushing through it... it doesn't go through that fast & when its flat on the ground, it mostly beads. I been meaning to make review to go in… see more I bought this a few weeks ago and you're right, water doesn't go through it very well. I been meaning to make review to go into more details with this. I think its fair to think as it gets some wear from the sun and just walking around on it that water will go through faster eventually but likely unevenly. It does keep weeds down and moisture in and lets you have a nice clean place to walk, but you can't direct plant like they show here unless you had a watering system underneath the fabric because you can't water when the water just beads everywhere instead of soaking through. Funny part is you're better off just using non glossy cardboard, it lets water through and its free... bit more work to put down since its in small pieces. see less I bought this a few weeks ago and you're right, water doesn't go through it very well. I’ve used it to line a drainage pit. Two layers to keep soil out. After heavy rain it catches all the rain as intended but then slowly drains into the ground over a couple days. Water goes through it, just not quickly.
