To calculate how much landscape fabric you need, measure the length and width of your target area in feet and multiply them together to get the total square footage. Then divide that total square footage by the square footage of one roll, which for a 3-foot by 50-foot roll is 150 square feet. Finally, add about 10 to 15 percent more to your total to account for overlapping edges by 6 inches between adjacent strips and trimming around borders or plants.

Hard to give a definitive answer as I have no way to measure that. It's been on the ground for a year now and has no damage visible. However, we're in Washington state so it might be different in south Texas.

I don't know the different between the brands you mentioned but you can't see through it but it is a weave so weeds can grow through it. I learned the hard way. Solid material is better but more expensive.

This material is extremely strong. I leveled out my ground in the garden, cut the material to size using a heat gun, layed it over the level space, placed the perimeter boards down, then Pearock over the entire space, water can go through it, but weeds do not! Perfect for my greenhouse
