I've had mine down on the basement floor for a couple years and they are not brittle yet. I don't know if they'd hold up if driven on but perfectly fine for walking on.

I would not consider them brittle. They have some flex and support plenty of weight. Cars and tool boxes sitting on top with no issues.

No they are not. I put it in my garage floor and cars are parked. So far so good

I got them to lock up tightly with each other by stepping on them hard with my feet and not one broke or chipped so I wouldn't consider them to be brittle at all. Hope that helps.

I cannot tell you if they float but I do believe they have bouyancy. Either way, I think they would if fact potentially tear your liner.

I had an extra tile and tested in my tub. It floats. I was actually surprised. I kind of thought it would sink. The weight of a bunch of them the size of a pool floor might naturally weigh them down, but not certain. Or maybe you can put a couple weights strategically placed to hold it down? They are a harder plastic, though still slightly flexible, particularly because there are so many openings in the design. The top is more rounded and smoother, so I think it would be relatively comfortable on feet, but I'm wondering if it is submerged in water, if it would be slippery (not sure how much traction you're looking for). The bottom has "sharper" straight edges, so I would just be curious if they would scratch the bottom of your pool lining? Not well informed on how durable those are. I think it'd be okay?
