Possibly, but the angled flat strap brace would have to be replaced with something rigid as it works fine in tension, but not at all in compression.

Yes , you could move it to the top but it does need the added strength from the brace , the brace would attach but it doesn’t serve as much support configured this way

The angled bar is intended to be held in tension, so you would need to reinforce differently for carrying the full weight. The flat stock will flex and not distribute the load. I did this by taking some square stock and fabricating a more rigid rod for holding a load.

NO...it was designed the way it will support the weight... upside down won't work

not with out modification of the angle bar as it is just a strip and will not support pushing pressure . I did mount mine that way but I had a piece of square tube flattened and drilled on the ends to replace the flat strip they used .
