If the plug fits the receptacle you can use it, BUT, if you try and pull 50 amps through the 30 amp cord you will smoke it very quickly. I would suggest that you change the breaker to a 30 amp, that way you are limited by the breaker, which is designed to protect everything downstream from the breaker. Outlets are all designed to be used with a matching breaker, If you are defeating that safety design to get around buying a heavier cord, you are taking a chance.

Probably not. But, much like we use skinny little extension cords in North America, as long as you don’t overload, you’ll be ok. I know that my little TIG welder only draws 30A, so is OK for me. A true 50A cord would be much more expensive. I use it with caution. It has served me well.

first of all 30 amp plugs are totally different than 50 amp, why not just buy a 50 amp cord and with 50 amp ends

It should be ok as long as your not going over 30 amp.if you are running somthing that requires 50 on a 30 amp cord i would say no to that

Your cord should match the load.
If the appliance draws 40amps the cord needs to be al least that big. If your load is 25amps and the cord is 30 your safe..... get the idea
