What is the thread pattern on the three Jaw chuck so that I can fabricate other tools to clamp down to the table?

Does the foot petal control the speed as well as the knob? Or foot petal just turns it on and off at the speed set by the knob? Also, I dont see a gas line to purge the inside of the pipe to be welded. Is there a cover gas port, usually located in the center of the chuck back plate?

The foot switch can only be turned on and off at a set speed. There is no through hole in the middle.

When the Chuck is removed is the table flat or is there a bar in the center that the Chuck screwed on to?
