There are holes in the bottom and side rails to use for mounting. I used the bottom mount option. Still impressed with the sturdiness and durability of this shelving unit. Great purchase.

Yes. It can be screwed to the bottom or side. If attached to the side it must be to one side of the opening. You can adjust where you place the uprights to get the best attachment point. The baskets that roll out are very well made.

I think it was just to the sides. Unless you bought the right size, you might have to put a strip of 1x or pad in the sides to fit nice. Great product. I thought it wouldn't work and pots and pans would get a tangled up, but if stacked properly it works great. I even installed some in my parents kitchen.

The units are designed for screwing to the bottom of cabinet, and screws are included; however, we used our own, better screws.
There is a bit of clearance on sides, so wouldn't be conducive to screwing to anything
