Inwould really like to see a seroius answer to this two part question.
Does it ring or thud when struck as normally mounted?
If the face is struck at modest speed by a hammer, does it rebound at nearly the same speed it was struck?

To ring like a bell, you need to let this steel anvil hang in the air before striking it.
