I used lag bolts and tossed the others. Also made me sounds like an engine on my porch and not really too impressed. Although it does push a lot or air

The expansion bolts are for use in concrete. you drill a hole, slide the bolt in and then as you tighten it, the bolt inside the hole expands and locks it in place. If your hanging it anywhere else, use a regular bolt.

I do not recall the size of the bolts as I mounted it on wood. If installing in drywall or cement, match a drill bit to the size of the Molly (screw fastener) place the mounting frame over the implanted Molly & insert the bolt then tighten with a ratchet.
