We used it on a rubber tile floor and it is sticking on its own without the use of any adhesive. We may add some in the future if we see the need to make it permanent. Right now, we don't want it to be permanent, or to damage the flooring.

It has a material that makes it not want to move but it is not sticky.
I tried it on carpet, linoleum and concrete and it doesn't slide around.
