I run a dual battery setup for my car audio system in my 2008 Nissan Altima I was worn that an isolator or relay would best be installed to prevent damage is this true?
Answer This Question
The dual battery isolator protects the main battery from overcharging. When the main battery is full and higher than 13.3V, the isolator switch will open to charge the excess power to the second battery. When the main battery voltage is lower than 12.7V, the switch will disconnect to protect the main battery. Whether it is necessary to install an isolator is your choice.
