If your water is 16 grain per gallon, the amount of water that can be treated is 16000/16=1000gallon.

The water softener has a relatively high removal rate for hard water ions, but a general removal rate for iron, manganese, etc.

There is no need to add salt at first, but you will need to add salt when the softening effect is no longer as expected.

Sterilization is not required, and salt placement during backwash regeneration inhibits the growth of bacteria. If not used for a long time, it is recommended to rinse and regenerate and then store.
