Can it detect a single broken wire in plastic conduit?

Yes. However, the detection depth cannot be that deep. It is estimated to be around 30cm, and the depth will be different depending on the soil quality.

I have an electrical wire that appears to be shorted to ground or the metal conduit. The wire is buried outside under ground. As i trace the wire with the probe should the signal end where it's shorted.

I assume, that after the wire has been found with the "beeps", that when it stops beeping, that is where the "break in the wire" is?
