I will tell you that it's a lot less noisier than an air compressed one and it's one of the shovel goes I torched it and made it into a pipe driver. It's not very loud.

As a precaution, I recommend using hearing and eye protection any time the Jack hammer is being used. By its nature it is a noisy tool.

Hu. Are you planning to buy a Vevor Jack Hammer? Don't do it! I got 1 few months ago and was dead on arrival. The price to return was more than the tool. It's seating on my shed for nothing.

The answer is kind of complex, but I hope this will help. The very end of the bit is round with a diameter of one inch. Then there is a narrow part to the bit which the tool grips to hold it in place. This section is also one inch in diameter.
