For the 9k sauna heater with external digital control, is there a max distance that the control unit has to be to the heater. I want to put the controller in my house and have the heater about 30' away in the back yard sauna.

Because the controller of the product is also connected to the temperature sensor, the total length of its wiring harness is 3 meters. Therefore, it is recommended that the installation distance between the controller and the heater should not exceed 3 meters.
