It's a meat slicer, it operates with a bit of a motor hum. If you are worried about whether it's noisy or not, you don't need one enough to buy it! Am I waking the neighbors with it, no, unless I sneak into their house and slice some cold cuts in their bedroom, they won't notice.

Absolutely Not! This machine is worth every penny I paid for it! One recommendation, buy the knife safe gloves. The Blade is extremely sharp! If you are considering buying this.....do so you will not be sorry! avb ... One caveat ... cleanup is easy but a chore.

It only makes loud noises if there is meat under the blade where it was not cleaned properly. Sometimes you have to use a different type of wrench to remove the whole blade to get excess meat from behind it. Most of the time you only need to remove the protective cover.

Being able to fold it would be nice but, no it won't fold. I don't think the quality of the slicer could be as good as it is if it folded. Other than being "large" it's perfect for its purpose.

It’s not foldable and is pretty large. I have it on a wire rack shelf in the closet.
