Had to remove the metal back plate and mount what I had to the back plate. I ordered mine with a lock kit.
You may be able to order a perforated back plate as an option.
If it is UL Listed it is NOT stamped nor is there a sticker anywhere on the box. Additionally nowhere in the manual that came in the unit does it say UL listed.
The box comes with hinges on the left side. There are 2 holes on the right side of the box for hinges, if you decide to hang the door there. They are plugged with plastic plugs.
