What’s the smallest pipe size this can fit in

I am currently working in Michigan where sewers can be 20 or so feet deep. Will this particular device/locator suffice for this? Also I saw pics showing locator sensing at about a 45 degree angle which confused me. How will I know if I am directly above the spot when locating and does the locator display how deep the sensor is? TYIA

The locator can only locate to about 16 feet. The locator only sets a rough range. There is no way to lock the specific position or display the specific depth.
