It all depends on what you are using it for. My wife does weekly baking events, and it is AWESOME for that. She does a lot of sour dough breads, pies, pastries etc. So, if you are buying it for more "traditional" home use it will be a bit "over-the-top". It is large enough that we bought a stand to put it on and not our kitchen countertops. She hopes to open a small bakery someday and this will be great for that. It is a bit overkill in my opinion for just basic baking needs. I hope this helps.
