This kayak rack must be drilled directly into solid ceiling studs/joists (wood) or concrete, not into drywall alone. Because drywall cannot support the 250 lb load rating or the weight of two kayaks, mounting it only to drywall will cause the rack to pull out of the ceiling. You should use a stud finder to locate the center of the wooden joists (or mount into solid concrete/masonry using the included expansion bolts) to ensure a safe, secure installation.
