What is the duty cycle on this winch ?
Truck Winch is a short-time working cycle. It takes about 15 minutes to stop for a period of time, otherwise the temperature may rise and there will be no tension.

I have not tried the free wheeling, but dont buy they are cheep quality and you will not be happy with the winch,,,, from old guy that has had lots of winches

That’s what I use mine for. I have to say the 12,000 pound winch at Harbor freight works much better!!! The wireless remote on this one is nice.

what size locking security screw should I purchase for this unit?
I used lock tight on all of my fastening bolts. I felt that this was enough to deter anyone from trying to remove the bolts and take the unit. Face it, if someone wants the unit and they are determined to take, any locking device will not hold them back.
